April 10, 2025 - Sarah Elizabeth Greer and Christine Butler
Great food and a Rooftop Memorial Ceremony
Peg and I checked out of the Hilton and found our way to Hell’s Kitchen to the home of Sarah Elizabeth and Christine. Peg had never been in it before and was bowled over by the visual delight of it. There is much to look at that there is always more to see, even in the bathroom!
Peg surrounded by Jacques Tati on the left and Bijou on the right, both sweet little guys.
Sarah had gone around the corner and got donuts and delicious egg and avocado sandwiches from Sullivans. I was glad that I didn’t get breakfast or coffee at the hotel! The donuts were about the best that I have ever eaten.
We spent a lot of time catching up and Sarah told us some of the wild stories of her life. I can’t imagine topping any of them.
We had a scrumptious dinner at 44 and X Hell’s Kitchen. I had a Sunset Boulevardier, which came with a little wooden cap, smoke coming out of a small chimney-like thing. I immediately felt like I was in the White Mountains of NH where I spent 0many summers as a camper and then counselor. The smell of the smoke evoked the pine forests! The drink was delicious!
The entrees were also excellent and the three of us shared a chocolate soufflé. As we tasted it we seemed to be duplicating a scene from When Harry Met Sally. It was that good!
Sarah had prepared a beautiful Rooftop Memorial Ceremony. I had never been to the rooftop of their building. The view at night was incredible.
The dogs were so adorable. Even Bonaparte, who was kept upstairs turned out to be fine with Peg and me.

The train I am on just stopped in Baltimore where Peg got off, so it will soon be in DC. I will write part II later!
Great trip!
What a wonderful adventure! Sarah Elizabeth is such a hoot!
